💡 Campaigns can and should use a range of tactics, so there’s a lot to consider when developing tactics. How will they impact our people, our allies, and our opponents?

Campaign use a range of tactics, including advocacy, protest, and/or direct action. Some tactics follow existing rules or laws; others intentionally act outside of them. A tactic is a collective action that can have any one of a number of objectives: some tactics are about educating our people or allies; some are about exposing or pressuring our target; some are about directly disrupting the status quo.
In the “chess game” between us and our opponent, our tactics are often the most concrete ways we wage struggle. Choosing the right tactics involves knowing where are in our plan to win, assessing the spectrum of support, and our points of leverage.
